A SERS substrate based on TiO2 nanowires coated with Au nanoparticles

  • Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) has been provened to be a high sensitive method for detection of adsorbed organic molecules with low concentration, and some researches have shown that some semiconductor nano-materials coated with noble metal nanoparticles had strong SERS effects. In this paper,a novel SERS substrate based on hydrothermal synthesized TiO2 nanowires coated with Au nanoparticles was prepared.R6G was introduced as the target molecules and as its concentration decreased to 10-12mol/L,the Raman signal still can be clearly observed on this SERS substrate. It proved that this substrate could enhance Raman signal by several orders of magnitude and could be applied for trace level organic detection, including biomolecules, organic pollution, etc.
