Abstract: The properties of two kinds of terahertz quantum cascade laser waveguide are studied by the transfer matrix method（TMM）.Results show that the confine factor of the metal-metal waveguide is higher than that of the single-interface surface plasmon waveguide.The thickness of the waveguide layers of the metal-metal waveguide is much thinner than that of the single-interface surface plasmon waveguide.
