Abstract:
Aiming at the lightning monitoring and localization problem of current transmission lines,a Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT) based lightning strike point location method for transmission lines is proposed. When the OPGW is struck by lightning,the transmitted light in the internal communication fiber generates a polarization state abrupt signal due to the Faraday effect. First,the polarization state signal is denoised,and then the Hilbert-Huang transform is performed on the denoised processed polarization signal. And processing to obtain a map of its amplitude and frequency as a function of time,therebyobtaining a moment when the polarization state abrupt signal reaches the polarization state demodulation device to perform lightning strike point positioning. The results show that HHT can accurately reflect the information of optical polarization state mutation at the lightning strike point of OPGW,which has high positioning accuracy and reliability,and provides a new method and idea for realizing higher precision and faster detection and location of lightning strike points on transmission lines.
