Abstract:
Ion beam enhanced deposition was used to synthesize titanium oxide film. The blood compatibility of the film and its relation to structure, composition, surface energy and protein adsorption were studied. The results indicate that the blood compatibility is related to the surface energy and work function of titanium oxide film. The amount of adsorbed protein is determined by surface energy and the denaturation of adsorbed protein depends on work function of the film. The mechanism of blood compatibility was discussed.
