Abstract:
In electroceramic materials fields, nano - size effects, nanotechnology related processes, and the use of new characterization techniques to reveal nanometric scale features are therefore gaining their importance. Recent research in electroceramics and evolving trends for the future are discussed in the paper. At first, a few examples of size effects on the nanoscale in oxide ceramics are reviewed. Secondly, preparation routes and applications of nanocrystalline ceramics are discussed and finally, trends to develop the microtechnology of integrated electroceramic films in a nano - technology are also described parallel to the evolution in the semiconductor area.
