Abstract:
A novel Ce:YAG ceramic phosphor was prepared by vacuum sintering technique. The ceramic phosphor was characterized by the X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence excitiation spectra and photoluminescence spectra. It has been showed that the ceramic phosphor a main Y

12 phase, and the yellow emission, around 550 nm in wavelength, was observed from the ceramic phosphor under the excitement of 470 nm.A white LED which packaged by this Ce:YAG ceramic phosphor with a 470 nm-emitting blue chip showed only 10% degradation of relative intensity of luminous efficacy and no change of the color coordinate after high temperature aging at 110℃ for 600 hours, which showed better performance in stability and lifetime than packaged by traditional ways at the same condition. The results indicated that the ceramic phosphor is a very suitable material for power white LED packaging.
