Abstract:
A modified citrate route with combustion for preparing LiMn
2O
4 with pure spinel phase, used for the positive material in lithium-ion battery, was developed. The particle size of spinel LiMn2O4 obtained is only 10-100nm and uniform, and the experiments show that the electrochemical per- formance of the investigated material is comparable with the commercial LiMn
2O
4. However a phase transition at temperature lower than ambient temperature was observed by D.C. resistance measure- ment. Meanwhile by this new technique, the normal citrate route for spinel LiMn
2O
4 preparation is simplified and the cost might be decreased.
