Abstract:
The structure and morphology of the carbon nanopowders with some carbon nanotubes , which was by-product in coal-coking industry, were examined by using XRD,SEM,IR spectrometry and physical test methods. And the electrochemical characteristic was examined. The results show that the carbon nanopowder are about 30 nm in diameter with structure of graphite.The carbon nanopowder exhibits a high electrochemical capacity, being 391.5 mAh/g at first discharge specific capacity and 336 mAh/g at first reversible specific capacity. The same peak shape and peak location are found in the cyclic voltammetry curves and there is no reduction current peak.It means that carbon nanopowder is suitable for negative materials of lithium ion battery.
