Abstract: Magnetic recording is the most popular mass recording technology, which area recording density is much higher,and it develops faster and faster. This paper analyses the progress of recording, readout and preservation, and compares the hard disk recording, perpendicular magnetic recording and magneto-optical recording. It points out that choosing perpendicular recording model and amorphous structure alloy films or ferrite films is the direction to gain superhigh density recording, and the laser-assist magnetic recording is a promise technology. Simultaneously, it also points out that the quantum pole technology is the direction of future.
