Abstract:
Crystallization kinetics of Sm-Fe-Si-C amorphous alloy has been studied by DTA and XRD methods. Results show that the crystalline; phase in this alloy are α-Fe solid solution and Sm
2(Fe,Si)
17C
x as the temperature is below 900 ℃. The apparent crystallization activation energy of α-Fe phase and Sm
2(Fe,Si)
17C
x is 431.51 kJ/mol, and 514.43 kJ/mol, respectively. The change of activation energy of both phases at beginning is not large, and then decreases obviously when crystallized volume fraction of α-Fe phase is more than 70 %and Sm
2(Fe,Si)
17C
x phase is more than 50 %.
