Abstract:
Using citrate-stabilized Au colloid as the seeds,we prepared gold nanoparticles with different shapes by a seeding method. TEM and UV-vis were used to characterize the as-prepared gold nanoparticles. The results indicated that the shape of the gold nanoparticles transformed from irregular-shape to spindle-shape,and finally to spherical-shape with the increasing of the amount of Au seeds. UV-Vis spectra show that spindle-shaped gold nanoparticles are of two multipole-resonances peaks near 850 nm and 970 nm,respectively. The mechanisms of the form of gold nanoparticles with different shapes were also discussed.
