Abstract: The design criterion of electrorheological （ER） valve was proposed, four ER valves were then manufactured, and an ER fluid control system consisting of ER valves bridge circuits was con-structed. The results from theoretical and experimental studies show that the flow rate gain of ER fluidcontrol unit is near linear and flow-pressure characteristics are almost unvaried upon different electricfield strength.
