Abstract:
The metal-air battery is an efficient and safe energy conversion device, which has a good application prospect in the fields of portable electronic equipment and communication base stations. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a key electrochemical process of metal-air batteries, but the reaction kinetics of this process is slow, which limits the energy conversion efficiency of metal-air batteries. The development of highly active oxygen reduction reaction catalysts has always been a research hotspot in metalair batteries. Although Pt-based catalytic materials are effective catalysts for oxygen reduction reactions, their high cost and scarcity limit the large-scale application of metal / air batteries. This article reviews the different types of ORR catalytic materials with low cost and high activity, and systematically summarizes the preparation methods and performance levels of these materials.
