Abstract:
The mechanically stable Polystyrene (PS) nanotubes with array structure were prepared by wetting anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template with 200nm pores with a solution or melt of normal molecular weight PS (
Mn≈ 180,000). The results of TEM and SEM show that the wall thickness of nanotubes prepared by using polymer melt is about 110nm, and that of nanotubes prepared by using the 5.0wt% and 10.0wt% polymer solutions is 70nm and 80nm, respectively. The wall of melt- nanotubes is thicker than that of the solution ones, and for the latter, the higher the concentration is, the thicker the wall is. A multi-time wetting mechanism of preparing polymer nanotubes with PS solution is also proposed.
