Abstract:
Using metal nitrate and urea as raw materials,BaAl
2O
4:Eu
2+,Dy
3+ phosphor with bright turquoise and long afterglow was prepared by combustion synthesis.The properties of phosphor were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorospectrophotometer. The results show that,with the increasing of combustion temperature,the violent degree of reaction increases,the content of BaCO
3 decreases,the crystallinity of BaAl
2O
4 increases,and the grain size increases. The peak value of excitation and emission spectrum of BaAl
2O
4:Eu
2+,Dy
3+ is respectively 310 nm and 500 nm,and the spectrums show characteristic of broad band. The luminescence of phosphor is due to the transitions from 4f
65d
1 to 4f
7 configuration of the Eu
2+ ion,and its long afterglow is due to the effect of electron trap of Dy
3+.
